Black Tea
The Robust Richness of Black Tea:
Black Teas are rich in flavor and aroma offering a wide range of flavor profiles. Their flexible flavor profiles can be changed by a wide range of factors such as processing techniques and brewing methods. Its often paired with various spices and fruits to create unique blends such as Earl Grey, Chai, Vanilla, and Lemon.
Some stated health benefits are:
Heart Health
Improved Digestion
Mental Alertness (due to the caffeine content)
Black Tea is made from green tea leaves when green tea leaves are allowed to oxidize. This oxidation causes components such as caffeine, flavonoids and polyphenols to develop as a result of the plant’s metabolism.

Prep your water: (unless using an infuser)
A lot of sites will tell you to decide on what blend and ready your tea leaves first, but I think its best to start your water first.
Heat your water to a rolling boil of approximately 200-215 degrees F.
Prepare your blend:
Now that your water is on you will need 2 teaspoons of the blend.
If you are using teabags then prep your teabags (if needed) and arrange in mug or cup
If you are using an infuser put the blend in the infuser first then add water then heat.
If you are using a pot with a strainer it doesn’t matter if placed before or after. This brew is already strong so if you’d like a lighter brew remove the tea on the earlier side.
Steeping instructions:
For Black tea the ideal steeping time is approximately 3-5 minutes. You will want to separate the blend from the water after this time has lapsed. for a weaker blend let steep for 3 minutes
Make it your own
This blend comes with ginger, cinnamon, and a hint of rose. This blend goes great with a squeeze of lemon for some added zest, or a few drops of peppermint extract (not both, the combination can be overwhelming). I also like to add 1 and a half table spoons of honey and a half ounce of vanilla almond milk. I like to brew a stronger blend steeping for the full 5 minutes.
